Player-Built Port Label Fix

Player-built ports now display their actual trade pattern and quality class separately, so the chosen pattern no longer appears reversed or mislabeled.

What changed

  • Player-built ports now show their real trade pattern. Previously every new player-built port was labeled Port Class 3 · SBBS because the UI confused the port’s quality class with its trade pattern. New ports start at Quality Class 3 but can have Pattern 1, 2, or 3.
  • Pattern shorthand is now from the player’s perspective. The build UI, sector header, Market, and Quick Trade now use:
    • Pattern 1 (SSB) — You sell Ore & Organics · You buy Equipment
    • Pattern 2 (SBS) — You sell Ore & Equipment · You buy Organics
    • Pattern 3 (BSS) — You buy Ore · You sell Organics & Equipment
  • Quality class is shown separately. The UI now makes it clear that Quality Class 3 is the port’s growth tier, while Pattern X is its fixed buy/sell direction.
  • Seeded ports are unchanged. They still show the classic port-perspective patterns like P3 · SBBS.

Why it matters

Players building ports were selecting one pattern and seeing a completely different label after construction. The port was actually doing what they asked, but the labels made it look reversed. This fix removes the ambiguity and makes the BUY/SELL buttons match the pattern description.

Guide updated

The Trading Guide player-built port section now uses the corrected player-perspective shorthand and explains the difference between quality class and trade pattern.
