Galaxy Home now shows your pilot name right under the title with a ✎ Change button — update the name other pilots see on leaderboards and in your journal in one click, no Settings trip required.

If you’re still on an auto-generated name (accounts start as “Pilot-xxxxxx”), the name appears highlighted with a hint and the button reads Set Name, so it’s obvious your callsign is a placeholder.

New captains get the same choice at the moment they launch their first ship: the launch screen now includes a Pilot Name field alongside the ship name, so you ship out as yourself from day one.

Your pilot name is one identity across every galaxy — change it anywhere, and it follows you to The Void, The Abyss, and The Frontier.
