Combat Attribution Is Now Clearer

Planet-defense deaths, defender-side kills, and known hostile grids are now explained instead of reported as ambiguous PvP outcomes.

Getting destroyed in a contested sector could be confusing when your ship died but you were also credited with a kill in the same area. These two things are separate, and the client now says so.

Planetary defense deaths now plainly state that no enemy ship was credited. When a Citadel Q-cannon destroys your ship, the death report and the combat log make clear it was the defense grid — not a captain’s ship — that got you, and whether your cloak was detected or inactive.

When you win a ship-to-ship fight as the defender, the entry report and post-warp message now frame it as a defense against an incoming attack rather than a generic survival. The outcome is attributed to the right side of the fight.

Sectors where a planetary defense grid has previously destroyed your ship are remembered locally, so the warp confirmation warns you again before you jump back into a known nuking sector. These warnings come only from your own observations and never reveal another captain’s identity or defenses.

The same clarity applies in both The Void and The Abyss.
