Public Changelog
Ship Refit System & Guild Navigator
Upgrade your ship without losing progress. The Guild Navigator β a CHOAM-commissioned endgame vessel with 50,000 fighters and 2,000 shields β is now available for commissioned captains.
Whatβs new
- Ship Refit System β Change your ship class at StarDock without starting over. Your credits, cargo, fighters, sector memory, cloak charges, probes, and photon missiles transfer to the new ship. Upgrades, hull state, shield, and insurance are reset (new ship, new hardware).
- Guild Navigator β The CHOAM-commissioned endgame vessel is now available for purchase at StarDock. Commissioned captains (alignment +1000) can refit to this ship for 1,000,000 credits.
- 50,000 fighter capacity (100x an Interceptor)
- 2,000 shield points
- 150 cargo and 150 hull
- +3 combat bonus
How refitting works
- Earn a CHOAM Commission at StarDock (requires +1000 alignment)
- The Guild Navigator Fund progress bar appears in your StarDock
- When you have 1,000,000 credits, click Refit to Guild Navigator
- Confirm the refit β your old ship is upgraded in-place
What transfers
- Credits (minus the 1M purchase cost)
- Cargo (capped to new shipβs max capacity)
- Fighters (capped to 50,000)
- Cloak charges, probes, photon missiles
- Sector memory and visited sectors
- Alignment, experience, rank, commission status
What you lose
- All installed upgrades (ship-specific hardware)
- Hull resets to new max, shield resets to 0
- Insurance contract is cancelled
Cost tuning
The Guild Navigator was originally planned at 2,000,000 credits, but was lowered to 1,000,000 based on live economy data. The top commissioned players currently hold ~600Kβ1M in liquid credits, so the new cost is achievable within days of dedicated trading rather than weeks.
Commission revocation consequences
If you lose your CHOAM commission after attacking CHOAM or Guild ships, you no longer keep unrestricted access to Guild hardware.
- Your Guild Navigator is confiscated after combat resolution
- You are reassigned to a stock fallback ship (
merchantin Galaxy 1,guild_merchantin Galaxy 2) - Your credits are reduced by a 250,000 credit impound penalty
- Your cargo and fighters are preserved only up to the replacement shipβs capacity
The post-combat screen now shows a dedicated confiscation alert when this happens.
Why it matters
Until now, the only way to get a new ship was to create one from scratch β losing everything. The refit system makes ship upgrades a genuine progression milestone, not a restart. And the Guild Navigator gives good-aligned captains a tangible payoff for the +1000 alignment grind.
Note: TransWarp (direct jump to any visited sector using melange) is planned as a future enhancement for the Guild Navigator, but is not yet active. Stay tuned.
