Alignment Titles and Port Crime Hotfixes

Pilots now show a separate alignment title alongside military rank, and recent port crime fixes clean up melange theft caps and sell-then-steal-back behavior.

What changed

Pilot identity now has two layers instead of one.

  • Military rank still comes from experience, with titles like Warrant Officer, Commander, and Rear Admiral.
  • Alignment title now comes from your moral path, with labels like Deputy, Marshal, Outlaw, Pirate, and Dread Pirate.
  • The main game HUD, StarDock, and pilot profile now show these as separate concepts instead of collapsing everything into faction standing.

This is a presentation upgrade only. No XP, alignment, unlocks, or progression milestones were reset or remapped.

Port crime fixes

Recent outlaw trade fixes also landed in the API.

  • Fixed a bug where the crime cache could drift away from the real port inventory and show impossible cargo theft numbers.
  • Fixed Melange theft displays so they respect the real port cap instead of showing absurd values.
  • Fixed a regression where cargo sold into a port stopped appearing in the theft list for sell-then-steal-back play.
  • Crime-state inventory now stays synchronized with the live port state more reliably.

Why it matters

Ranks, titles, and standing now each mean something different:

  • Rank tells you how experienced a pilot is.
  • Title tells you what kind of captain they have become.
  • Standing tells you how the major powers currently view them.

At the same time, port crime should feel less buggy and less exploitable. If a port says something is available to steal, that number should now better match the real underlying market state.
