What changed
Combat / Event Log
- New Events tab in Captain’s Journal — Open your journal (
J) and switch to Events to see recent activity that affected your assets. - Events are logged for:
- Fighter attacks — When an intruder attacks your deployed fighters, you see who, where, and how many were lost.
- Fighter destruction — When an entire fighter group is wiped out.
- Tolls collected — When a traveller pays a toll to your tolled fighters. As part of this change, tolled fighter owners now actually receive the toll credits (they were previously disappearing).
- Planet attacks — When your planet’s Q-cannon fires on an intruder.
- Filter by event type to focus on combat, tolls, or planet defense.
- Events show a relative timestamp (e.g. “2h ago”) and the involved pilot name when known.
Avoid Sector Navigation
- Mark sectors to avoid — In any non-StarDock sector header, click Avoid Sector. The sector is added to your personal avoid list.
- Plot Course respects avoided sectors — When you open Warp To… (
W/P) and choose a destination, the route planner finds a path that does not pass through avoided sectors. - Fallback warning — If every path to your destination goes through an avoided sector, the planner warns you and still displays the shortest possible path.
- Manage avoided sectors — The Plot Course modal lists your avoided sectors and lets you remove them with one click.
- Death modal shortcut — When your ship is destroyed, both the live death modal and the “destroyed while away” login modal now offer an Avoid Sector button for the sector you died in (not your FedSpace respawn sector).
- Avoid lists are per-player and per-galaxy, so your routing preferences do not affect other captains.
What this means for play
- Fighter-based toll income is now visible and actually pays out — a good reason to seed tolled pickets on busy trade lanes.
- You can finally see who is shooting up your fighter deployments instead of just noticing they vanished.
- Plotting around that hostile planet or fighter blockade is now a first-class feature rather than a manual routing puzzle.
- Check the Fighters & Mines guide and Navigation guide for details on deployment and route planning.
