What changed
New feature
- Away-death greeting — If your ship is destroyed while you are offline, the game now shows a modal the next time you log in or enter the galaxy.
- Shows who destroyed you, in which sector, and when.
- Shows credits and cargo lost, respawn sector, and insurance status.
- Displays your current ship status so you know where you stand.
- One Acknowledge button dismisses the notice; it will not appear again for the same death.
- Galaxy Home warning — The galaxy card now shows a red warning when your ship has an unacknowledged away death.
- Acknowledgement endpoint — Active-play
DeathModalacknowledgement also marks the death as acknowledged server-side, preventing the away modal from reappearing on refresh.
Why
Previously, a ship destroyed while the captain was offline would simply respawn in FedSpace with no explanation. Players logged back in to find themselves in Sector 0 with missing credits and no idea what happened. The away-death greeting closes that loop.
What this means for play
- No more mystery respawns after time away.
- You can see exactly who got you and decide whether to seek revenge, avoid that sector, or fortify your logout spot.
