What changed
Galaxy Portal
After logging in you now land on Galaxy Portal instead of being dropped directly into The Void. Each active galaxy is shown as a summary card with live counts and your current ship status.
- Per-galaxy stats — pilot count, planet count, sector count, and your ship name are all visible at a glance.
- Personalized welcome — the heading uses your display name if you’ve set one in Settings.
- Announcements section — pinned above the galaxy cards for important galaxy-wide news.
Enter Galaxy / Launch ship flow
- Enter Galaxy — if you already have a ship in a galaxy, one click takes you straight in.
- Launch ship in this galaxy — if you’re new to a galaxy, a simple modal lets you pick a ship name and class without leaving the portal.
- Launching a ship creates it, refreshes the portal, and immediately enters you into play.
Navigation polish
- Settings → Back to Galaxy Portal — replaced the old “Quit to Login” button. Now routes you to the portal without logging you out.
- Portal logout is handled by the dedicated Logout button at the top of the page.
Version bump
- All packages and endpoints bumped from 0.8.25 → 0.9.0.
What this means for play
- The portal is built to scale — when more galaxies go live, they’ll appear as additional cards side-by-side on wide screens or stacked on mobile.
- You can have one active ship per galaxy. Ships in different galaxies are independent.
- The Getting Started guide has been updated with a new Galaxy Portal section covering the landing page and launch flow.
